Red Cross Workers: Two Years Without A Contract
Governor Malloy supports Red Cross workers.
Invoking the nationwide struggles of middle class working people, front-line Red Cross blood collection workers met on April 10, 2011 to mark the second anniversary of working without a collective bargaining agreement.
“They do good work. It’s an unbelievable service and they deserve a contract,” Malloy told reporters before the press conference.
CT AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Lori J. Pelletier brings labor's statewide support to our members.
“The Red Cross is behaving no differently than Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker or Ohio Governor John Kasich in its efforts to strip our members of their fundamental bargaining rights,” said Local 3145 President Christine Holschlag, RN. “We are not going away. We are going to hold this corporation accountable for its disregard of workers and donors.”
