"Stand United or Fall Divided"
2013 Member Recognition Winners
Keynoting the Council 4 Civil Rights luncheon, Desai mesmerized members with the story of how New York taxi workers have fought for basic workers' rights working in the city's mobile sweatshops.
Desai also assailed attacks on public employee bargaining, telling delegates, "An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us."
Highlights of the conference included our Membership Recognition Dinner, with 37 members receiving special plaques for going above and beyond the call to build strength at the workplace or in their communities.
Thanks to all of our presenters -- and special thanks to Jessica Weinstein, Assistant to AFSCME President Lee Saunders, who inspired our members to action with her remarks.
