Remembering Ronald Hobson
Ron Hobson, Local 884.
Ron worked for the New Haven Police Department for 28 years as a 911 operators and police dispatcher. He served 10 years as local union president until 2014.
Local 884 President Doreen Rhodes recalled Hobson as a caring and unselfish leader.
"Ron always had time to offer a helping hand," Rhodes said. "He was there to answer a question or provide advice, even when he was sick. Ron was truly dedicated to the cause. We will miss him deeply."
Council 4 extends deepest sympathies to Ron's family, including his wife Christine, his daughters Tarsha and Ronnae, and his son Chaz.
"Ron made New Haven a better place to live and work," said Council 4 Executive Director Sal Luciano. "I will remember his as a calm, cool and caring leader who embraced the union as a force for good in our world."
