We Make Connecticut Happen

MLK Celebration on January 16

Join an alliance of labor, civil rights and social justice organizations to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s vision, which challenged Americans 50 years ago to fight for genuine equality, racial justice and economic fairness.

Saturday, Jan. 16, 10 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
01/16/2016 - 10:00am - 12:00pm
Bethel AME Church
1154 Blue Hills Avenue
Bloomfield, CT

The purpose of the event is to highlight the economic inequality, social injustice and racial biases that are hurting working people and shrinking the middle class here in Connecticut. But it's also to unite our communities as one so we can create a more just and fair society for all.

Participating organizations include Council 4, the unions in the State Employees Bargaining Agent Coalition (SEBAC), SEIU Connecticut State Council, the Connecticut Center for a New Economy (CCNE), the Hartford Rising! coalition, the Hartford and Danbury NAACP Branches, Open Communities Alliance, Connecticut Citizen Action Group (CCAG), Connecticut Common Cause, Better Choices for Connecticut (BC4C) and many more.
