April 3, 2014 -- Governor Dannel P. Malloy signed a proclamation today recognizing Connecticut’s public school paraeducators in honor of the day set aside to celebrate their vital role in student learning.
Members of AFSCME Local 3429, New Haven School Paraprofessionals, attended the celebration and heard the governor say, "I support you."
"We love what we do," said Local 3429 President Claudine Wilkins-Chambers. "We're in it for the kids. That's why we do this work."
Congratulations to all our Council 4 paraprofessional members -- and all Connecticut’s hard-working paraprofessionals -- for the credit you so richly deserve and for making a difference in the lives of your students. Your dedication to public education is making a difference in all our communities.
