An Election Away from Wisconsin?
Local 3144's Harold Brooks marches in protest during last year'protest against Scott Walker in Stamford.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker succeeded in shredding the bargaining rights of state and local workers; now his extremist super-rich backers are trying to give Connecticut a “Wisconsin moment."
Join us for a special forum Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Middletown High School Auditorium, 200 LaRosa Lane, Middletown, CT. Find out what really happened to Wisconsin workers, and how we can stop a "Wisconsin moment" from happening in Connecticut.
You will hear from Wisconsin’s public employees (including two AFSCME members) about the impact one election had on their pay, healthcare costs and retirement benefits. There will also be breakout sessions to discuss our plan to protect our rights, our families and our communities.
This forum is relevant to all Council 4 members, state, municipal or private sector. Pastries/coffee will be served at 8:30 a.m. and a light lunch will be provided at noon.
