Council 4 Toy Drive

The holiday season will be brighter for the children of families in need thanks in part to Council 4's Annual Toy Drive

Our union collected hundreds of toys and an additional $1,565 in gift cards, all of which was donated to the Rocky Hill-based United Labor Agency (ULA), which assists union members and all workers and their families facing hardship.

ULA Representatives Kim Burton and Kasey Cornwell accepted the donation from Council 4 Executive Director Sal Luciano and Financial Coordinator Peggy Badolato, who organized the Toy Drive.

"The holidays are a particularly challenging time for families and children dealing with the consequences of a job loss, financial distress, or serious illness," said ULA Executive Director Amy Blackwood. "We appreciate the generous and caring spirit displayed by Council 4 members and staff, and the entire labor movement, as we head into 2016.”

Council 4 Executive Director Sal Luciano serves as Administrative Vice President on the ULA Board of Directors. ULA Board members also include Kit Salazar-Smith of AFSCME Local 562, Peter Thor of Council 4 and retired Council 4 staff representative Betty Kuehnel.

“The United Labor Agency does wonderful work that benefits all our communities,” Luciano said. “I encourage Council 4 members to learn more about the good work of the ULA and to support this amazing agency in any way possible.”
