Defending Collective Bargaining

State lawmakers in late July began debating union members' recent agreements to secure jobs, extend benefits and protect the vital public services that Connecticut residents and businesses depend on.

Despite the promise to provide billions in immediate and long-term savings, every single Republican legislator voted 'No,' preferring instead to unilaterally extract concessions and silence working peoples' voices.

Watch state employee union members share why they believe elected leaders should embrace collaboration, not confrontation, in order to solve big problems. Hear why they came to the State Capitol to urge lawmakers respect collective bargaining, and accept mutually negotiated cost savings in order to protect Connecticut's quality of life for all.
