The AFSCME Council 4 Civil Rights Committee is hosting a "Soul Food Summer Drive-In" movie series outside Council 4 headquarters in New Britain.
On Sept. 18, the featured movie will be At The River I Stand. his moving documentary recounts the two months leading to Martin Luther King Jr.'s death in 1968, coinciding with the 65-day strike of 1300 Memphis sanitation workers. .
The Civil Rights Committee Movie Night is for Council 4 members and family only.
Suggested arrival time is 8:00 p.m.
You can bring a lawn chair or view the movie from your car. Be sure to bring your face mask and practice social distancing.
