Rally for Essential Workers and Justice at the Service Plazas (32BJ SEIU Event)
Where:
Connecticut State Capitol. 210 Capitol Ave. Hartford
On May 27th, essential workers who are members for 32BJ SEIU will urge Governor Lamont and the Connecticut legislature to support interstate service plaza workers organizing for a union with 32BJ SEIU. Workers along the Connecticut Interstate have been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve risked their health and the health of their families to keep our community safe and fed.
Despite being deemed essential workers, the men and women employed by McDonald's, Dunkin' Donuts, Subway and other service plaza outlets continue to face abuse, with many still denied their right to paid sick days and pay rates that align with the Standard Wage Law. Join them to support a just recovery for all essential workers and justice at the service plazas! #ServingUpJustice
