We are AFSCME Local 991

AFSCME Local 991 consists of three bargaining units from both the Town of Manchester and Manchester Board of Education. We are proud to be the voice of Manchester public service workers!

Local 991 consists of a wide range of Town of Manchester and Manchester Public School employees: administrative assistants, secretarial, and clerical associates; police dispatchers, data operators, animal control officers, and police service aides; engineering and survey technicians; cafeteria workers; health and construction inspectors; librarians and library technicians; and more.

We are involved in charity events throughout the year, including an annual food and toy drive to benefit MACC Charities.

Our members work hard to ensure that our residents of the Town of Manchester and students of Manchester Public Schools are taken care of appropriately. We are also proudly affiliated with Council 4 AFSCME, the voice of 30,000 workers throughout Connecticut.
