Press Conference: Hazard Pay for Essential Workers
State Capitol Building (north steps)
210 Capitol Ave
Hartford, CT
Since the start of the pandemic, Connecticut’s 14 billionaires have amassed an additional $12.6 billion in wealth. But the essential workers who put their lives on the line to keep our communities afloat only received empty praise.Thousands of working people across the state continue to struggle with low wages, housing insecurity, out-of-control medical costs, and more. Our essential workers deserve better.
Join the Recovery For All coalition in calling on Gov. Lamont and the legislature to allocate hero pay for all essential workers in Connecticut!
Pandemic Hazard Pay Action and Press Conference
Thursday, Sept. 9 at 4:00 p.m.
State Capitol Building (north steps), 210 Capitol Ave Hartford
(This event will be held rain or shine)
This action is an important next step in ongoing efforts to move elected officials to direct federal American Recovery Plan (ARP) resources to provide hazard pay for essential workers. Legislators are meeting this month for a special session and will decide how the remaining funds will be spent so this is a timely action to raise our voices in support of pandemic pay.
