Council 4 AFSCME and the U.S. Department of Labor have reached an agreement to conduct new nominations, a new election and installation for the offices of Executive Director, President, Secretary, and seventeen (17) Vice Presidents, on or before April 30, 2019.
The new nominations election will take place under the supervision of the Secretary of Labor and in accordance with Title IV of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act.

The Department of Labor ordered a new election based on member challenges to the previous Council 4 elections on April 14, 2018 and May 11, 2018.
The member challenges upheld by the DOL related to Article 7, Section 2 of the Council 4 Constitution, (“Officers and Committees”), which states, “No more than one officer shall be from any one local.”
Council 4 is committed to full compliance with the Department of Labor and will conduct new elections on or before April 30, 2019. We will provide notice of the new election as soon as possible, followed by a Call to Convention for the Delegate Assembly.
Stay tuned for further updates.
Thank you.
