We are AFSCME chapter 4 retirees
AFSCME Chapter 4 Retirees is made up of nearly 4,000 retired public service workers in Connecticut who have come together to fight for retirement security. We are state and local government workers, but we haven't quit just because we're retired. Our chapter is part of AFSCME Council 4 in Connecticut.
We are also part of the American Federation of State, County & Municipal Employees (AFSCME) the leading voice for public service workers and retirees. AFSCME Retirees began operation in 1980 and operates more than 300 state and local groups nationwide.
AFSCME retirees stand together to protect and improve your retirement benefits - like pensions, Medicare and Social Security. Our local chapters lobby Congress, appeal to state legislators, even fight city hall in the effort to defend retirement security, health care and other related issues of broad concern.
We are also part of the Connecticut chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans, which has mobilized retired union members, seniors and community activists into a nationwide grassroots movement.
During your work life, you had a strong union -- AFSCME. Now, let AFSCME be your retirement union.
