About Us

Council 4 Corrections United is comprised of the three AFSCME Council 4 Connecticut Department of Correction locals—Locals 387, 391, and 1565—representing more than 5,000 correctional officers and staff across the state. Our mission is to protect and serve the correctional professionals who courageously stand guard against society’s worst evil so that Connecticut families can rest easy at night. We fight to defend the rights, safety, and dignity that our members deserve—as well as to secure the wages and benefits our officers have earned through their selfless service.
