ASSISTANT FINANCIAL COORDINATOR
PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for assisting the Financial Coordinator in providing financial and bookkeeping activities required by the Council. The focus of the position is accurate, timely and efficient processing of the financial matters of the Council in conjunction with the accountants retained by Council 4.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Performs tasks independently, works under the limited supervision of the Chief of Staff.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Accounts Payable/Receivable: Invoices, Expenses and Per Capita taxes
-Payroll: Transmits payroll and assists with payroll preparation
-Assists with State & Federal Quarterly & Annual Tax Filings
-Central Dues Collection
-Account Maintenance on various bank accounts
-Compiles financial data as needed
-Clerical duties related to bookkeeping
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma and three years of accounts payable, payroll or accounting in a responsible position. Education beyond high school may be substituted for the experience requirement on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
Strong computer skills are essential, including accounting software (QuickBooks, etc.) and spreadsheets. Minimum moderate Excel experience required. Ability to coordinate and compile high volume of material in a timely and effective manner. Confidentiality is imperative for this position. Proficiency in math is needed for bookkeeping.
