If you are a paraeducator who is not offered health coverage by your employer, you may be eligible for affordable health insurance through HUSKY Health Programs (Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program) or Covered Connecticut, a state program that allows Connecticut residents who qualify to enroll in a health plan with $0 premium and $0 out of pocket costs.

The Comptroller’s Office has been working with the Governor, Unions, and the Legislature to help improve health care coverage affordability for Paraeducators.  As part of this effort, the State Comptroller's Office is hosting a webinar with the Office of Health Strategy, Access Health Connecticut, and the Department of Social Services. The webinar will review the healthcare coverage benefits and resources available to help eligible paraeducators enroll.

• Paraeducators and other part-time BOE staff who are not offered health coverage by their employer
• Board of Education HR and benefits staff
