AFSCME Local 3429 Member Linda Randi Named New Haven Public Schools' Paraeducator of the Year

AFSCME Local 3429 Member Linda Randi Named New Haven Public Schools' Paraeducator of the Year
New Haven, CT — AFSCME Council 4 is proud to celebrate Linda Randi, a kindergarten paraeducator at Nathan Hale School and a longtime member of AFSCME Local 3429, who has been named New Haven Public Schools' (NHPS) 2026 Paraeducator of the Year.
Superintendent Dr. Madeline Negrón announced the honor at a recent Board of Education meeting.
Four Decades of Dedication
Randi has served New Haven Public Schools since 1985 — 41 years of building relationships with students and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
For the past 10 years, Randi has also served as her school's paraeducator union steward — showing up for her colleagues the same way she shows up for her students. Her advocacy has been especially visible in the fight to make sure the job is done right for the students who need her and fairly for the coworkers who stand beside her.
Celebrating One of Our Own
Linda Randi embodies everything AFSCME Local 3429 stands for: showing up for kids every single day, standing up for coworkers, and never backing down from a fight for fair treatment. This recognition is well-earned!
Congratulations, Linda Randi — New Haven Public Schools' 2026 Paraeducator of the Year, and a true champion of AFSCME Local 3429.
